Quick Start
Follow these steps in order to get up and running quickly.
1. Set up your company
Open Apps Settings (in the sidebar's System section) and confirm your company name, address and defaults on the General tab. Add your logo and brand color on the Branding tab so documents and emails look like you.
2. Add your properties and units
Create your Properties and the Units within them. Units are what leases attach to.
Tip
If your data already lives in QuickBooks, you can import Products as Units/Properties instead of entering them by hand.
3. Add tenants and leases
Create a lease for each occupied unit. Use Quick Lease Add for speed. Leave Send invitation checked to give tenants portal access.
4. Turn on online payments
Connect Stripe so tenants can pay rent online and payments reconcile automatically.
5. Connect your email
Connect your email — by SMTP or with Google — so invoices, reminders and documents send from your own address. You can also turn on inbox sync to read and reply to mail inside RentAxis.
6. (Optional) Connect QuickBooks
If you keep your books in QuickBooks, connect it and choose what to sync.
7. Review your reports
Open Reports to see your Rent Roll, A/R Aging and Income Statement populate as activity flows in.
That's the core. From here, explore late fees, recurring charges and the marketing tools as you need them.
