Integrations
Connect Quickbooks
RentAxis integrates with QuickBooks Online so your property data and accounting stay aligned. Connecting is the first step — afterwards you can push data to QuickBooks and pull data back into RentAxis.
Before you start
- You need an organization admin account in RentAxis.
- You need a QuickBooks Online company and an admin login for it.
Important
The QuickBooks connection is set per organization. If you manage several organizations, connect each one to its own QuickBooks company.
Connect
- Open Apps Settings (in the sidebar's System section) and go to the Integrations tab.
- On the QuickBooks card, click Connect.
- Sign in to Intuit and choose the QuickBooks company you want to link.
- Approve the requested permissions. You'll be returned to RentAxis with a Connected status.
What syncs
Once connected, RentAxis can exchange these records with QuickBooks:
| Record | Direction |
|---|---|
| Customers / Tenants | Both ways |
| Products & Services → Units/Properties | QuickBooks → RentAxis |
| Invoices | Both ways |
| Payments | Both ways |
| Expenses | Both ways |
| Bank transactions (feed) | QuickBooks → RentAxis (reconcile only) |
On the Integrations tab you can choose a sync direction (one-way or two-way) and toggle which record types sync — customers, invoices, payments and expenses — plus how Section 8 (program) invoices are handled.
Note
The bank feed is for reconciliation only — importing bank transactions never posts journal entries on its own. Your general ledger comes from your entity data (invoices, payments, expenses). See Sync QuickBooks → RentAxis.
Keeping the connection healthy
- Intuit tokens expire periodically; if you see an authentication error, reconnect from Apps Settings → Integrations.
- Disconnecting stops all syncing but leaves already-synced records in place.
