Getting Started

Dashboard And Navigation

When you sign in as an admin, RentAxis drops you on the Dashboard at /dashboard. From there, the left sidebar is your map to everything else. This page explains what's on the dashboard and how the navigation is organized.

The dashboard

The dashboard is your at-a-glance command center. It pulls live numbers from across your portfolio, including:

  • Key stats and a collection summary — expected vs. collected rent, current outstanding and total past due.
  • A revenue vs. expense trend chart over the last 12 months.
  • Past-due tenants and upcoming items that need attention.
  • A portfolio overview and marketing summary.
  • Pending signing requests waiting on action.
  • A setup guide to help new accounts finish onboarding.

Tip

The dashboard reflects whatever your role can see. If a widget looks empty, it may be that your data hasn't flowed in yet — or that your role doesn't include that area.

The sidebar

The left sidebar groups every area into labelled sections. Items appear only if your role and plan include them, so your menu may be shorter than the full list below:

  • Overview — Dashboard, Ask AI, Mail and Calendar.
  • Properties — Portfolio, Properties and Glance.
  • Leasing — Overview, Leases, Lease Types, Tenants, Programs (PHA), Rent Collection, Payment Reminders, Late Fees and Lease Agreement.
  • Accounting — Overview, Payments, Expenses, Chart of Accounts, Rules, Bank Transactions, Reconcile, Journal Entries, Recurring and Fixed Assets.
  • Reports — All Reports, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Transaction Report.
  • Marketing — Overview, Leads, Pipeline, Listings, Email Templates, Scheduled Emails and Application Forms.
  • Maintenance — Maintenance and Contractors.
  • Users — Users, Roles, Invitations and Activity Log.
  • Operations — Announcements, Support, Platform Updates, Create Center, Import Center and Export Center.
  • System — Files, Apps Settings and Billing & Plan.

Note

Your company settings (general, branding, email, notifications, integrations and more) live under Apps Settings in the System section.

Customizing the sidebar

The sidebar is customizable — you can reorder and hide sections to match how you work, so the areas you use most stay at the top.

Switching organizations

If you belong to more than one organization, an organization switcher appears at the top of the sidebar. Pick a workspace to reload RentAxis scoped entirely to that organization's data. (The switcher is hidden if you only belong to one organization.)

Important

Switching organizations does a full reload so no data from the previous organization lingers. Each organization keeps its own properties, leases, books, settings and integrations.

Press ⌘K (or Ctrl+K), or click the search affordance in the header, to open the command palette. Start typing to jump straight to a page or record without hunting through the menu.
