Lease Types

Lease types let you label the kinds of leases you offer (for example Standard 12-month, Month-to-month, or a program lease). Assigning a type when you create a lease keeps your portfolio organized and your reporting tidy.

Manage lease types

  1. Go to Lease Types under the Leases menu (/admin/lease-types).
  2. Click Add Lease Type and give it a name and an optional description.
  3. Use the Active toggle ("Active (available for use in new leases)") to control whether it's offered on new leases. Inactive types are kept for existing leases and reporting but no longer appear as choices.

Note

A lease type is a simple label — name, description and active status. It doesn't carry default rent, term length or fees; those are set on each lease. Portfolio-wide defaults (like a default lease duration) live separately under Settings → Lease Defaults.

Use a lease type

When creating a lease, select the lease type to categorize it.
