Users & Roles
Roles
Roles define what a user can do. Each role is a bundle of permissions, and you assign roles to users.
How roles work
- A role grants specific permissions (e.g. create leases, view financial reports).
- Org-staff roles are scoped to your organization — creating or editing a role in one organization doesn't affect another. (A few built-in system roles are shared platform-wide.)
- A user can hold a different role in each organization they belong to.
Manage roles
- Go to Roles.
- Create or edit a role and toggle its permissions.
- Assign the role to users.
Report access is granular
Report permissions are granted by category — Financial, Rental, Property, Transaction, Late Fees — rather than as one blanket "view reports" permission. Grant only the categories a role should see.
Important
A menu item should only be visible to users whose role can actually open its page. If someone sees a menu entry but gets a permission error, their role is missing the permission that the target page requires — adjust the role.
